From the Valleys ...

                                                                                        ... to the Hills

Come and hear the glorious music of the Welsh valleys when Victoria Welsh Choir performs in concert at the Burrinja Centre, Glenfern Rd, Upwey on Sunday 28th May at 2.30pm.

Victoria Welsh Male Choir sings in the distinctive spine-tingling, four-part harmony of the traditional Welsh male choir. It has a diverse and vibrant musical repertoire, which includes Welsh and Celtic favourites, popular songs, light opera, Broadway melodies and Afro-American spirituals.

The Choir’s concerts are renowned not only for the quality of the singing, but also for their relaxed, informal style, good humour and audience involvement. They guarantee that you will leave the concert with ‘a smile on your face and a glow in your heart’.

The choir’s award-winning Musical Director, Faleiry Koczkar, was born in Wales and grew up with Welsh as her first language. She has been honoured by both Wales, and her adopted homeland, Australia. In 2012, the National Eisteddfod of Wales appointed her its President of Wales and the World for 2012. Then in June 2014 she was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for her contribution to choral music in Australia.

Also on the program will be The Skylarks, a nine-piece, high-energy jazz, blues, soul and roots group who are also the house band at the theatre’s Skylark Room.

Tickets: Full $26, Concession $22, Children under 15 $10.
